SikaLastomer®-511 - Non-skinning butyl sealant

SikaLastomer®-511 is a butyl rubber sealant that does not skin or corrode. It stays flexible in metal roofing applications, allowing factory dispensing and field joining based on panel storage temperatures. This sealant enables metal panels to be separated easily even after long periods, facilitating repairs and maintenance.

Benefits:

Exhibits excellent adhesion to typical standing seam materials with reliable pump and gun application. Panels can be joined on-site up to six months after the first application. Includes an additive that prevents a wide range of microbial growth.

Suitable Usage and Application:

SikaLastomer®-511 is formulated for factory sealing the female lip of standing seam roof and wall panels, as well as concealed end laps. It adheres to mating surfaces and flows into panel joints when assembled between -25 °C and 60 °C. Onsite, it serves as a vapor seal within insulated sandwich panel joints used in freezers and cool stores, with joint faces later sealed using elastomeric sealants like Sikasil® C (NZ). Additionally, it is suitable for sealing marine deck fittings above the waterline where future disassembly is needed. This product is intended for skilled professional use, and compatibility tests with other materials should be conducted under actual conditions.
