Sika® Primer-209 D - Pigmented, solvent based primer for paints and plastics

Sika® Primer-209 D is a solvent-based black primer that cures upon moisture exposure, creating a thin interfacial layer. This layer enhances bonding between substrates and adhesives. Designed specifically for preparing surfaces before applying Sika’s one-component Polyurethanes, it can deliver strong adhesion on certain plastic materials without requiring an activation step.

Suitable Usage and Application:

Sika® Primer-209 D enhances adhesion on a broad range of plastics and coatings, including GRP, epoxy resins, PVC, ABS, PMMA, PC, PS, acrylics, alkyds/melamine, powder coatings, and baking varnishes. Given the diversity of plastic materials, it is essential to conduct preliminary tests on original substrates under actual production conditions. Consult the manufacturer’s guidance and test materials susceptible to stress cracking before application. This primer is intended for skilled professionals, and thorough testing with specific substrates and conditions is necessary to confirm adhesion and compatibility.
