Temporary Closure of WA Trade Desk / Showroom

To all the current and future customers of Trade Warehouse Direct,

We just wanted to make you aware of a few changes which we have made in light of COVID spreading through the community.  These changes mainly affect our WA based customers.

In order to protect our staff, their families and other customers, we have decided to temporarily close the Trade Desk / Showroom in Profit Pass, Wangara for an undetermined amount of time.  In addition to helping prevent the spread of COVID, it is essential for the continuity of our business that we minimise indoor interactions with customers.  Should a customer unknowingly have COVID and visit our trade desk, under the WA government’s current definition, that interaction would be deemed a close contact and our staff member would have to self-isolate at home for 14 days. Should that staff member end up testing positive as a result of that interaction, which wouldn’t be known for several days, as we are a small team who work in close proximity to each other, everyone in that premises would be deemed close contacts and would have to self-isolate at home for 14 days.

Whilst some of our staff can work from home, and regularly do, the guys who work in the warehouse and who pick, pack and dispatch orders, can’t work from home.  A scenario like this is a huge risk to the ability of the business to operate at all for a period of at least 14 days. No orders could be dispatched.

The risk of not being able to dispatch any order from our WA warehouse for this length of time is too great.  Given the trade desk is only used by a small number of regular customers and ad-hoc customers browsing towel rails or looking for under floor heating advice, it is a sensible approach to take until the government alter their definition of a close contact down to a period of time which would then be an acceptable risk.

Having described the reasons why we are temporarily closing the trade desk / showroom, I want to remind all customers that in both our WA and VIC warehouses we offer a click and collect option.  When you order online you can select either of our warehouses as a click and collect option. We do urge you take note of the stock levels displayed for each product you order so you can see whether the stock is there available to collect.  If not, in most cases we can order it in.  The main exception to this is Wire Mesh, which if not available must be delivered.

If you arrive at our warehouse not having realised that they are both operating as click & collect only, please call one of our friendly customer support team members on 1800 302 511 and they will be happy to take your order and expedite it to the warehouse so that you can take it away straight away (stock permitting).

Our click and collect points will all be touchless and will not require you to enter the premises or to sign for your order.

We hope that you understand our position on this for the time being until government rules are changed.
